This 5inch smartphone had a model name as PICOphone M1, and is using mainstream entry level dual core chipset mt6572. Had a 540×960 px resolution and came with android 4.2.2 jellybean by default. Here is I build the cwm and twrp custom recovery so you can play with any custom rom, but what is custom recovery anyway ? Okay, lets explain first why do we need a custom recovery, … as you may already knew, there are two famous recovery application for android, which is TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) and CWM (Clockworkmod Recovery). They both build by amazing developers and they both do pretty much the same thing, which are : allows you to perform several advanced recovery, restoration, installation and maintenance operations on your Android device that aren’t possible with the stock recovery, and is one of the most common ways used to gain root access, back up device data, install a custom ROMs, kernels, themes, mods and more. Which one is better? I can say both program are very good, but personally, I like TWRP better. CWM seems to be more popular, though. The main thing I like about TWRP is the USB OTG functions and smaller backup footprint but besides that, CWM works just as well.
Here is I build the two flavour of them, whichever one you prefer, you can have it :

HOW TO INSTALL :
To install this cwm or twrp recovery, you need SPFlashTool program which only available on winblows os platform so … really sorry, I cannot support it because I never use and don’t have winblows. You may refer to this tutorial : MT65xx Flashing Tutorial it is very well explained by Bruno Martin.
Please be really careful using SPFlashTool, especially when flashing ROM not for your device, since it may bricked your device forever.
Scatter file you might need : MT6572_PICOphone_M1_Android_scatter.txt
Another thing, It is also possible to flash this cwm or twrp custom recovery using mobileuncletool or other recoverytool apk that made specifically for this purposes. You can find it on many hack site such as xda or else, and of course, you can use any tools that suits you, but on this article I’m not describing how to do it.
